Trinitie Beeman, a senior in the Biomedical program at Mountain Ridge High School, conducted her research-based capstone project, developing a question and then conducting research to answer this question. Trinitie's question was "How are pancreatic cancer and diabetes connected?" She worked to complete her research with her mentor, Tina Doman, an oncology nurse at UPMC Western Maryland.  According to Trinitie, "I wanted to conduct this research to inform those that didn't know there could be a connection and to encourage those that have diabetes to take care of themselves."
