2019 Maryland STEM Festival Art Contest

  • davis The 2019 Maryland STEM Festival Art Contest ran from August 10 – September 19, 2019, featuring SPACE & FLIGHT as its theme honoring the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon and the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Goddard Space Flight Center. The contest was open to all Maryland students in grades K-12, Maryland College or University. There were four age categories in the contest: Elementary School (K-5), Middle School (6-8), High School (9-12) and College (undergraduate). There were also two categories to each age group - traditional art and photographs/computer generated.

     

    Abigail Davis entered the traditional art category representing Braddock Middle School, and she was announced as one of the winners on October 18th. Her work will be displayed at the NASA Space & Flight Visitors Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, from November 3-10, 2019. On November 10th, there will be an awards ceremony for the winners at the visitors center.
