Thanksgiving Food Drive
-
For several years, S.H.O.P. students at Mt. Savage have organized a Thanksgiving food drive to benefit families in need. This year's drive ran from November 4-19, during which time students donated food items and money. Additionally, the organization held a Spirit Night, which raised the funds used to purchase the Thanksgiving turkeys. A total of 35 Mt. Savage School families will be the recipients of not only all the necessary items for a Thanksgiving meal, but also supplemental goods to last through the duration of the holiday break.
STARS Recognition
-
For the third consecutive year, Mt. Savage Middle School recognized students in grades 6-8 for demonstrating exemplary behavior both in and out of the classroom. Students are nominated by a group of teachers to be honored at a breakfast celebration. Parents are also invited to attend to hear the positive comments that led to their students' nominations. All students receive a certificate, a STARS water bottle, and a Mt. Savage STAR decal. This semester, a total of 18 students were recognized.
