    The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) released preliminary statewide English Language Arts (ELA), and Mathematics 2021-2022 school year assessment results, the first year of the new Maryland Comprehensive Assessment Program (MCAP) assessments.

    The Allegany County Public School System considers a number of factors when making the decision to delay or close schools.  The first consideration is for the safety of students traveling to and from school, including the outside access to school buildings.

    Board of Education Honors High School Bands for Performances

    At the November 22, 2022, public meeting of the Board of Education, school board members took the opportunity to recognize ACPS high school bands for their exceptional performances at recent competitions. All three band programs earned champion status.

    On Wednesday, November 9, 2022, the Allegany County Chamber of Commerce Leadership Allegany! Class of 2023 participated in the program’s annual Education Day co-hosted by the Allegany County Public Schools, Allegany College of Maryland, and Frostburg State University.

        Flintstone School is a tremendous place to learn and play each day! We work each day to support all children in learning and in helping them become respectful, responsible citizens. 
         

        All families and community members are welcomed and encouraged to take an active role at the school by helping the children at school and at home as well as by attending the multitude of educational and recreational activities that are planned throughout the year. Let’s make this school a center of the community as well as a resource for your needs. Please let us know what we can do to help you to help your child throughout the year.

      • Our school serves students in Pre-K - Grade 5 with an enrollment of approximately 240 students. Each grade has 2 classrooms, with the exception of Pre-K, which has a morning session only.

        Flintstone Elementary School is committed to providing a variety of enriching educational experiences that includes technology-enhanced opportunities and the development of critical thinking skills all in an equitable learning environment. These experiences help our students realize their potential and become responsible, productive citizens in our diverse culture.

        Our vision is to create a welcoming elementary school where students, staff, and parents join together to inspire our students to reach their full potential academically, physically, emotionally, and socially.
