  • School System Names 2020-2021 ACPS Teacher of the Year

    Even though the public ceremony was cancelled, however, the selection committee chose Stacey Bradley, South Penn Elementary School, as the 2020-2021 Allegany County Teacher of the Year.

  • ACPS Cancels 32nd Annual Teacher of the Year Banquet

    In response to the rapid spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and at the direction of the State Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Karen Salmon, this year’s Teacher of the Year banquet scheduled for Monday, March 16, 2020, at the Allegany County Museum has been cancelled.

  • School Board Approves Pre and Post-Labor Day Academic Calendars for 2020-2021 School Year

    ACPS has approved a pre-Labor Day calendar and a post-Labor Day calendar. ACPS will use the pre-Labor Day calendar for the 2020-2021 school year if the post Labor-Day calendar is not required.

  • School Board Begins Search for Permanent Superintendent of Schools

    The first step in this search process will be to gather stakeholder input regarding desired characteristics as well as potential challenges the superintendent may face. This information will be collected via an anonymous survey conducted by MABE.

  • Interim Superintendent Appoints Asst. Supervisor of Student Support Services, School Safety

    Mr. Jeff Blank, Interim Superintendent of Schools, has named Anthony Rumgay as the school system’s new Assistant Supervisor of Student Support Services and School Safety.
