Maria has enrolled in Honors English I and II, geometry, biology, Spanish III, world history, government, algebra II, chemistry, U.S. history, and trigonometry, as well as AP language and composition, psychology, environmental science, and calculus. She is the flute section leader and the woodwind captain in the band, the team captain of Mock Trial and a member of the National Honor Society. Maria is also the secretary and vice president of Mountain and Valley 4-H Club and the Just Hoofin’ It 4-H Club and has earned several awards, including the National History Day George Washington Leadership award, the Honors U.S. History award, the AP psychology award, a graduate of Leadership Allegany Rising, and the 2022 Outstanding Business Student award. She enjoys raising livestock and horseback riding and volunteers her time with Project Sentinel Santa, with 4-H barn tours, and playing music at her church. Maria plans to major in biology in college and hopes to pursue a career in medicine.
