FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES PARTNERS FOR SUCCESS: A RESOURCE CENTER FOR FAMILIES OF CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
The goal of this center is to promote and encourage parents/educators and the community to partnership in planning for a quality education and a successful future for those students with disabilities. As a partner in pursuit of this goal, the Parent Resource Center will coordinate and provide training for parents, respond to parent inquiries, and serve as a resource base for school and community services.
Partners for Success is a non-profit organization for families that have children ages 3-21 with disabilities, established state-wide as part of each local school system in Maryland, and has as its goal the provision of knowledge and the development of essential skills fundamental to parents and professionals working together as equal partners in the educational decision making process.
Partners for Success seeks to increase parental involvement in the Special Education decision-making process by providing information and resources about disabilities and community service, assisting families in resolving concerns, in making informed decisions regarding their child’s education and increasing collaborative relationships through information and training.
