The Maryland graduation requirement states that beginning with students entering grade 9 in the 2015-2016 school year, to graduate from a public high school, a student shall complete, as part of the health or physical education curriculum, instruction in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) that includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
Allegany County Public Schools is meeting this requirement by incorporating a CPR in Schools program where all students enrolled in 481-Comprehensive Health will learn Hands-Only CPR.
