Substitute Position Information

  • We value our substitute educators, instructional assistants, custodians, cafeteria workers, and bus drivers.
     
    All substitute positions with ACPS require applicants to be at least 21 years old and successfully complete all pre-employment criteria, which include a criminal background check. Applicants will pay for their criminal background checks.

    In order to be added to the substitute teaching pool, all applicants MUST have one of the following: a bachelor's degree or higher in a teaching field, a bachelor's degree in a non-education field, or an associate degree in teaching education. Substitutes who hold a Maryland Teaching Certificate are given preference for long-term substitute teaching positions.
