WTCI/Egyptian Delegation visit Allegany County Public Schools

egyptOn Friday, July 15, 2022, staff from the Allegany County Public Schools gave a presentation on the Active Learning Labs (ALL) initiative, the Gradual Release of Responsibility integrated with the guidelines of Universal Design for Learning (GRRUDL) model, and how technology is integrated into instruction within our classrooms.

Dr. Kim Kalbaugh, ACPS Chief Academic Officer; Mrs. Heather Morgan, Principal of John Humbird Elementary School; Ms. Rachel Hager, elementary ELA specialist, and Dr. Eric VanSlyke, ACPS Secondary Science and STEM Supervisor, had the distinct pleasure of presenting to a distinguished group of six educators from Egypt. The Egyptian educators represented the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Higher Education, as well as representatives from public and technical education schools. The 2.5-hour long discourse was facilitated by the World Trade Center Institute.

ACPS would like to thank WTCI for bringing these educational professionals in-person to the district and allowing us to highlight our programs. The professional learning experience allows ACPS to share its successes and challenges with implementing the successful program as well as continue to broadcast our instructional model/practices around the world.
