    This two-year career-ready course is designed to prepare students for careers in the Carpentry Construction Trade. Carpentry offers a promising career for the individual who has an interest in and aptitude for working with tools and materials. Carpentry requires a combination of thinking and doing. Besides the construction of new buildings, he/she can handle work connected with remodeling, maintenance, and work in factories that produce prefabricated buildings.

    Carpentry students learn blue-print reading, construction math, layout techniques, construction techniques and skilled use of building materials, hand and power tool safety, trim and finish work as well as introduction to basic masonry skills. During the school year, the carpentry students, together with other construction skill areas, build a home in the local community.

    The top carpentry students will have the opportunity for placement into the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Keystone Mountain Lakes Regional Council of Carpenters Local 423 Apprenticeship program.

    Upon successful completion of the carpentry program students will receive an industry-recognized certificate and transcript from the NCCER providing portability of learned job skills and educational credits that will be tremendous value to trainees.


  • STUDENTS WILL:

    • earn Articulated Credits towards Apprenticeship with Keystone Mountain Lakes Local 423 Apprenticeship program.
    • have the opportunity to earn NCCER accreditation.
    • be encouraged to participate in competitions through SkillsUSA®.
    • obtain OSHA 10 Career Safe® certification.
    • build a home in the local community.
