Accelerated Reader
The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program designed to develop reading skills and the appreciation of literature. To participate, students must read a book from one of the many selections on the AR book list. Many of these books are located in our school media center as well as the public library. In our media center, AR books are marked with a yellow label for easy identification. There is a complete list of AR books on the Cash Valley website.
Upon completion of a book, students may take a computerized test which determines mastery of the reading material. Students may test at times designated by their teachers. Points are awarded as tests are passed. As students accumulate points, their names will be posted on the AR bulletin board in the front hallway. At the end of the year, there will be a special celebration with awards going to the top readers. We hope you will encourage your child to read and help Cash Valley reach our school goal of 3,000 points. Feel free to contact Mrs. Green with questions regarding the AR program.
