• The Campers had a great 22-23 season, earning their 9th area title while having a record of 19-2 and sweeping the region 8-0. They would also lead the area in runs per game (12.1), runs allowed (1.1), and had a batting average of .419. They would make it all the way to the semi-finals, unfortunately falling to a talented Catoctin team, 1-0. The upcoming 23-24 season is led by head coach Dave Winner, as well as assistant coaches Sean Gallagher, Aaron Britton, Jeremy Strother, Brandon Monahan and Sly Logsdon and returning seniors like Sky Porter, Kylie Hook, University of Maryland-Baltimore County commit Riley Gallagher, and Penn State commit as well as the area's best hitter, Abi Britton. She had a batting average of .574 and 2.3 RBIs per game, as well as an earned run average of just 0.4. Abi allowed only six earned runs in 104 innings, striking out 254. She was one of four on the team to bat higher than .500, with Avery Miller who also scored an area-best 38 runs (.541), Mackenzie Monahan (.528), and Riley Gallagher who was just behind Miller in runs with 36, while also swiping a team-high 11 bases (.516). The Campers aim to make it to the state championship game, with Coach Winner stating “Our seniors (next year) Abi, Riley, Sky Porter, Kylie Hook, those girls, mostly, don't know anything but playing for a state championship. It's their last year, and I think they'll make one more run at it.”
