Allegany County Public Schools will pilot a one-year Cybersecurity Certificate through Allegany College of Maryland beginning next year in an effort to increase opportunities for seniors on an abbreviated schedule to participate in career and technology areas and earn college credits.
As a result of this order for outdoor and indoor capacity at athletic events, ACPS will provide two tickets to each participating student for both home and away events.
Staff will continue to review options to provide students with more in-person learning opportunities in the near future, and these options will be discussed further with the elected board at the March 9th school board meeting.
Maryland student success in the Advanced Placement (AP) program remains steady, and high participation rates on the rigorous tests continue.
ACPS virtual parent conferences originally scheduled for March 10-11, 2021, have been cancelled as a result of the beginning transitions to the concurrent/hybrid learning schedules.
At the February meeting of the Allegany County Board of Education, board members voted to request the removal of the interim label from Mr. Jeff Blank’s title to appoint him as the next permanent superintendent of schools in Allegany County.
