  • ACPS Provides Inclement Weather Plan for 2022-2023 School Year

    The Maryland State Department of Education will allow local school districts to utilize up to eight (8) days of virtual learning this school year. In Allegany County Public Schools, those alloted days will be used as inclement weather days.

    Students in the Allegany County Pathways in Technology Early College High (PTECH) Program recently completed their summer internships with various local employers.

  • ACPS Hosts Successful Secondary Summer Camp for Students with Disabilities

    Allegany County Public Schools concluded a successful six-week secondary summer camp for students with disabilities on Thursday, July 28, 2022, that culminated in an outdoor carnival celebration.

  • WTCI/Egyptian Delegation visit Allegany County Public Schools

    On Friday, July 15, 2022, staff from the Allegany County Public Schools gave a presentation on the Active Learning Labs (ALL) initiative, the Gradual Release of Responsibility integrated with the guidelines of Universal Design for Learning (GRRUDL) model, and how technology is integrated into instruction within our classrooms.

  • ACPS Wraps-Up Successful Elementary Summer Learning Program

    Allegany County Public Schools offered in-person summer learning programs for students beginning at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 school year through July 14, 2022.

  • CCTE Graduates Compete in National Skills Competition

    The annual National Leadership & Skills Conference (NLSC), a showcase of career and technical education students, was held in Georgia in June, and five recent graduates of the Career Center had the opportunity to compete against more than 6,500 other career and technical education students, all of whom were state contest winners.

    MISSION STATEMENT

    John Humbird Elementary School seeks to create positive, achieving, winning students by having high expectations and meeting the needs of all students through differentiated instruction that will have them college and career ready. Our school will promote a safe, structured, and supportive environment by fostering positive relationships between students, staff, and school community.
