ACHD to Offer Immunization Clinics for Incoming 7th Graders
Parents of incoming 7th grade students are reminded that additional immunizations are required before starting school in the fall. Students will not be permitted to begin the school year until the dates of immunizations are on file with the school nurse.
Tdap and MCV (Meningitis) vaccines are required to enter school and will be offered free of charge, along with HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccine, which is recommended, but not required, for 7th graders.
It is encouraged to make appointments as soon as possible to avoid any conflicts with pediatrician's offices. These immunizations are also available at the Allegany County Health Department. See below for dates, times, and links for pre-registration. Walk-ins are also permitted.
- August 8, 2022: 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.
- August 22, 2022: 8:30 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m.
- September 8, 2022: 4-7 p.m.
For more information, contact the ACHD at 301-759-5138. As soon as a student has their immunizations, or if they have already received them, take or fax a record to the school.
