Three ACPS Students Win Scholarships at Tri-State College Night

More than 150 Students, Parents Attend at Annual Event

On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, Allegany College of Maryland hosted the annual Tri-State College Night. More than 60 colleges, universities, technical schools and branches of the military were on hand to help parents and students make educated decisions about post-secondary plans. Additionally, nearly 150 area high school students and parents attended this year’s event.

Four high school students attending the event were the recipients of various scholarships totaling $2,200. Paige Sevinsky and Madison Pratt, both seniors at Allegany High School, were the winners of $750 scholarships. Paige’s scholarship is for her to attend Allegany College of Maryland, and Madison’s scholarship can be applied to the college or university of her choice. Dakota Castro, junior at Mountain Ridge High School, and Karaline Crabtree, a junior at Calvary Christian Academy, were both the recipients of $350 scholarships to the college or university of their choice.

All four scholarship recipients were selected by random drawing. Each of the students has two years to redeem their scholarship winnings from the 2019 Tri-State College Night.
