Three ACPS Students Win Scholarships at Tri-State College Night

On Tuesday, October 9, 2018, Allegany College of Maryland hosted the 51st annual Tri-State College Night. More than 60 colleges, universities, technical schools and branches of the military were on hand to help parents and students make educated decisions about post-secondary plans. Nearly 150 area high school students and parents attended this year’s event.

             

Four high school students attending the event were the recipients of various scholarships. Esther Foland, junior at Bishop Walsh School, and Lydia Deneen, junior at Allegany High School, were the winners of $350 scholarships to the college or university of their choosing. Gabriel Howard, senior at Mountain Ridge High School, was the winner of a $750 scholarship to the college or university of his choice, and Ethan Shiver, senior at Allegany High School, was the recipient of a $750 scholarship to Allegany College of Maryland.

             

All four scholarship recipients were selected by random drawing. Each of the students has two years to redeem their scholarship winnings from the 2018 Tri-State College Night.
