ACPS Provides Inclement Weather Plan for 2025-2026 School Year

CUMBERLAND, Md. — Dec. 1, 2025 — Allegany County Public Schools announced its inclement weather plan for the 2025-26 school year.

ACPS will have three snow days, also referred to as severe weather days by the State of Maryland. During these three days, students, teachers and staff will be off from school. These days will be made up at the end of the school year.

If additional school closures are needed, ACPS will use virtual learning days to help keep students on track academically.

ACPS students are required to log into Schoology for synchronous learning on virtual learning days. Students will attend four-hour sessions with live instruction through Schoology followed by asynchronous learning activities. Schedules for these days will be posted on the ACPS website at acpsmd.org

Students Without Internet Access

Students without access to connectivity will be allowed up to two days following a closure to submit assignments and be counted as present for class.

Virtual Attendance Matters

It’s critically important that all students participate in virtual learning days. Those days keep students engaged and count towards their attendance.
