ACPS, ACEA Celebrate American Education Week

CUMBERLAND, Md. – November 18, 2025 – Kimberly Sloane, president of the Allegany County Education Association, kicked off “American Education Week” at the Allegany County Board of Education’s November meeting. Sloane shared a proclamation in honor of American Education Week – November 17-21. 

Sloane also presented the Education Support Professional of the Year award to Stephanie A. Scaletta, an instructional assistant in Special Education at South Penn Elementary School. Scaletta, Sloane and Cresta Kolkowski, the Maryland State Education Association UniServe director for ACEA and Garrett County Education Association, were joined by a group of ACEA members at the meeting.
