Allegany County Public Schools announces Mr. Charles Moran as the “Acting” Principal at Allegany High School.

Mr. Moran began his career at ACPS in 2002. Since then, he has served as a county math specialist at the elementary level, before moving into administrative roles. He has held the title of Assistant Principal at multiple schools, with the most recent being Allegany High School. Moran will be holding the “Acting” Principal position through the end of the 2024-2025 academic school year.

“It has been a pleasure working with Ms. Laupert prior to her retirement,” says Moran. “Allegany High School has outstanding teachers and students, and I look forward to working together to ensure continued success."

Mr. Moran is temporarily filling the vacant principal position, due to the retirement of Heidi Laupert, effective February 3, 2025.
