Attention Parents of 6th Grade Students!

Parents of current 6th grade students are reminded that their child will be entering 7th grade in August and will be due for more immunizations before starting school.

Children will NOT be permitted to start school until the dates of these immunizations are on file with the school nurse.

Tdap and MCV (Meningitis) vaccines are required to enter school and will be offered free of charge, along with HPV (human Papillomavirus) vaccine, which is recommended, but not required, to enter 7th grade.

Make your appointments now to avoid the rush with your pediatrician.

The immunizations are also available at the Allegany County Health Department on the following dates and times:

  • August 8, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. until noon and 1 - 4 p.m.
  • August 22, 2022, from 8:30 a.m. until noon and 1 - 4 p.m.
  • September 8, 2022, from 4-7 p.m.

If you need more information, please call 301-759-5138. As soon as your child has their immunizations, or if your child has received them already, bring or fax the shot records to the school.
