ACPS Preparing for Students’ Return to School Buildings

Parents May Request to Opt-Out of In-Person Concurrent /Hybrid Learning Structure


Plans in Allegany County Public Schools are underway for students to re-enter school buildings for in-person concurrent/hybrid learning. Students in Grades 6, 9, and 12 will return to in-person learning on Monday, March 8, 2021. Grades 7, 8, 10, and 11 will return to in-person learning on Monday, March 15, 2021.


Parents have the right to request that their child remain in a virtual setting. If they choose this option, they must complete an Opt Out of In-Person/Hybrid Structure Form and submit it to their child’s school. Students who opt-out will participate synchronously via the Schoology Learning Management System.


Middle and high school schedules will be posted on individual school websites, and the opt-out information will be posted on Schoology for parents to complete. Parents may also contact their child’s school office if they do not have access to Schoology to complete the opt-out form. 


The deadline for middle and high school students to complete the opt-out form for in-person concurrent/hybrid learning is Wednesday, February 10, 2021.
