School System Honors Students with 37th Annual Achievement Awards
End-of-Year Award Recognizes Seniors for Success in Academics, Arts, Leadership
Sixty-one high school seniors were honored for earning the 37th Annual Achievement Awards. This end-of-the-year award recognizes graduating seniors in the Allegany County Public School System who are in the top 10% of their classes in academic excellence, who have made special accomplishments in the arts, and who demonstrate superior leadership qualities.
Sponsors of this year’s award included Daly Computers, Inc., First Peoples Community Federal Credit Union, First United Bank and Trust, Hamilton Relay, Skyline Technology Solutions, ACT 1st Federal Credit Union, LaVale Lions Club, District 22W, Willetts Systems, Inc., and UPMC-Western Maryland Health Systems.

Typically the school system hosts an end-of-the-year banquet to recognize these students for their accomplishments; however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent school closures, award recipients will be honored virtually in a video tribute courtesy of Commercial Video.
