In early March, the Alhambra Wamba Caravan #89 held the 19th annual Hooley Plunge. Over the years, the Hooley Plunge has become the largest single-day fundraising event in Allegany County, raising over 1.8 million dollars for local programs. These local programs include ones supporting the developmentally disabled, public and private schools, and more.

Earlier this month, members of the Alhambra Wamba Caravan #89 presented Allegany County Public Schools (ACPS) with a $30,000 donation from monies raised from the event. This donation money helps fund numerous programs within the school system, including the ACPS Unified Sports programs and schools with special programs.
