The ACPS schools continue to develop plans for traditional in-person learning Monday-Friday for the fall 2021-2022 school year. A draft of the 2021-2022 Reopening Plan will be published on the ACPS website by August 6, 2021. All reopening plans are to be submitted to the MSDE by August 13, 2021.
A draft copy of the ACPS 2021-2022 Reopening Plan is available for stakeholder review and input. All Maryland school districts are required to update plans for the coming year and post the updated plans prior to the start of the school year. Stakeholders may provide input on the plan at ASK ACPS or by emailing Mia Cross, Public Information Officer, at email@example.com. All input should be provided by Monday, August 16, 2021.
All staff and parents are encouraged to make the best decision for their own personal health and safety, and the health and safety of students. ACPS will maintain physical distancing as much as possible within the school setting.
The school system will continue with bagged lunches for the school year. Modifications to the lunch schedule and locations for meal services will be determined by the school principal based on the needs of the school. The cafeteria and classrooms may be used, as necessary.
It will remain a priority to maintain healthy school and office facilities with daily cleaning. The ACPS will continue to examine ways to ensure improved ventilation within all buildings.
Good hand hygiene is still a recommendation for general health considerations. Staff and students should continue washing or sanitizing hands routinely, especially before eating.
ACPS will continue to follow Maryland Department of Health guidance in regards to isolation and quarantine. The current guidance is that u nvaccinated students and staff will need to quarantine up to 14-days if they are in close contact with a person who is positive for COVID-19. Vaccinated students and staff will not need to quarantine if they are in close contact with a COVID-19 case as long as they remain symptom-free.
