Westmar Early Learning Center Opens New Playground
Last month, Westmar Early Learning Center opened their new playground. The playground, compatible for ages 2 through 4 years, consists of a playset with slides, seesaw, and discovery cave. All playground equipment was selected by Westmar School staff and purchased and installed by Cunningham Recreation of Frederick, MD.
“The Westmar Early Learning Staff is delighted to be able to expand our student’s play space with new playground equipment,” says Lora Puffenberger, Westmar Principal. “The pre-k students have been waiting all year for this opportunity! The demands for materials delayed the process, but the smiles on the students' faces made the wait worth it!”
The playground was funded by COVID relief funds, to provide pre-k students with their own playground, with specific equipment geared for their age group.
“It is very exciting for the Westmar Early Learning Center to get this new playground,” says Joshua Cook, Westmar Vice Principal. “I want to thank Mr. Jay Marley and his staff for making this possible. The students are eager to begin playing on it. I cannot wait to see their smiling faces going down the slides!”
