ACPS Schools and Students Earn Recognition at the 2024 Hagerstown Chapter MathCounts Competition
All four ACPS middle schools recently competed in the Hagerstown Chapter MathCounts Competition. The Hagerstown Chapter represents all public and parochial middle schools in Washington, Allegany, and Garrett Counties.
In the team competition, Braddock Middle School captured 1st place, with the team qualifying for the state competition in March. This is the 9th consecutive first place finish for Braddock Middle School and 34th time in the past 41 years overall. Washington Middle School came in third, one-half point out of second place. The Braddock Middle School team, coached by Kara Breedlove, consisted of Zachary Llewellyn, Saad Hans, Nolan Pillai and Kristina Kucher, who also was the 2nd overall individual finisher.
Top individual finishers also qualifying for the state competition include: Joshua Georgeson, William Keiling, and Connor Kennedy from Mt. Savage MS, coached by Teresa Norris, and Jayce McLaughlin and Maxwell Shelton from Washington Middle School, coached by Stephan Weisenmiller and Joshua Wilson
