Saville

Mr. Ian Saville, an educator at Center for Career & Technical Education (CCTE), was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS). Mr. Saville was nominated by a student for outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in the profession.

Every year, student NSHSS members are invited to nominate the educator who has made the most significant contribution to their academic career for the Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction award. This honor recognizes exemplary educators whose passion and devotion inspire their students to grow and develop as scholars, leaders, and citizens.

“I am honored to receive this award,” says Ian Saville. “I truly appreciate the opportunity to work with so many talented young men and women in Allegany County, and attribute it to all the support I have received from the outstanding teachers and administrators at CCTE.”

Mr. Saville has been the Auto Technology teacher at CCTE for the last two years. He is a Master Technician for Ford, and brings his many years in the industry with him into the classroom.

“We are extremely fortunate at Allegany County Public Schools to have someone as skilled and dedicated as Mr. Saville,” says Mr. Joe Brewer, Supervisor of Career and Technology Education and Library Media. “In just his second year, he has brought fresh ideas and an industry-focused perspective to help prepare students with the skill-sets necessary to be successful in the workforce.”

James W. Lewis and Claes Nobel, of the family that established the Nobel Prizes, formed the NSHSS in 2002. It recognizes academic excellence at the high school level and helps to advance the goals and aspirations of high-achieving students through unique learning experiences, scholarships, internships, international study, and peer networks. NSHSS connects outstanding young scholars with the resources they need to develop their strengths and pursue their passions, while continuing to seek new ways to provide lifetime learning and growth opportunities.
