ACPS School Resource Officers, Jeremy Hedrick and Chris Fraley, assisted with the Prescribe Change Four Miler and One Mile Walk on Labor Day. Officer Hedrick, shown in the photo, and Officer Fraley provided support for runners on the portion of the course that is on the C&O Canal Towpath. Additional members of the Cumberland Police Department also in attendance and under the direction of Lt. James Burt were Sgt. Korry Rounds and Sgt. Chris Golliday.
This event raises funds to support the purchase of educational resources to educate the community in the effort to defeat the opioid epidemic.
The honorary starter for the event was Mrs. Chris Delaney, who recently retired from the Allegany County Health Department. Mrs. Delaney was instrumental during the planning of the initial event four years ago.
