Allegany County Public Schools Selects New Graduation Dates for 2026

Change allows ACPS families and students to celebrate multiple student graduations, including those held at ACM and FSU.

CUMBERLAND, Md.— Jan. 15, 2026 —Allegany County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Michael J. Martirano announced changes to graduation dates for the County’s high schools and Center for Career and Technical Education. The new dates better support families as they celebrate their high school and college graduates. 

The ceremonies will span four evenings, and ACPS will no longer host graduations on Saturday, May 16. The schedule is as follows:

  •  The Center for Career and Technical Education’s certification ceremony will begin at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 14, at Canal Place. (This date and time are unchanged.) The ceremony’s rain date is Friday, May 15, with a 6 p.m. start at Canal Place or Fort Hill’s auditorium in the event of rain.
  • Allegany High School will host its graduation ceremony at 6 p.m. on Monday, May 18, in the school’s gymnasium, rain or shine. 
  • Fort Hill High School’s graduation ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19, at Greenway Stadium. Its rain location is the school’s auditorium.
  • Mountain Ridge High School’s graduation will start at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, in its stadium. Its rain location is the school’s gymnasium.
